When we were asked to create a brand identity program for an independent documentary filmmaking company, we discovered that independent filmmakers are not always so 'independent'. They have clients with expectations just like the rest of us, and, in this case, those clients were the big broadcast networks. Our assignment was to strike a visual balance between the corporate sophistication of the networks and the indie, artsy sensibility of the company founders.  We created a great duality by rooting the visuals to a clean, conservative logo design but then added hip program elements that communicated in a more free spirited language.
